Golf Marathon
Our annual Golf Marathon will be held in September 2009 at Meadowbrook Golf Course. Golfers will play as many holes as they can that day or for a specific amount of time with the purpose of raising funds for A-Train for Youth. Each golfer will go out and raise a target amount of pledges for the number of holes they play or their representative plays that day. The pledges may come from family members, neighbors, church members, local business owners etc. Typical pledges range from $.25 to $5.00 per hole. Proceeds will help cover the cost of gym time, tournaments, travel costs and most importantly scholarships for those youth in need of our help. This year’s goal is to raise $20,000. The golfers will tee off first thing in the morning and play as many holes as they can until the end of the day. We would expect they could play a minimum of 100 holes. In this type of format, certain rules are in place to speed up play. Remember they are raising proceeds for A-Train for Youth, not necessarily trying to get the lowest score. Last year, some of our golfers reached 139 holes. There are several ways in which you can participate in the Golf Marathon: • By being a Golf Marathon/Team member participant • Donating or making a pledge • Or as a Corporate Sponsor –see our corporate sponsor page below In addition to supporting a great organization, each golfer will receive a continental breakfast, on course refreshments, lunch, gift bag prizes, opportunities to win great prizes and unlimited golf for the day. With a strong commitment and work by all our teams and their players, we are all but guaranteed a great fundraiser.
